ShieldMe is an innovative VPN service designed to operate directly on routers, thereby securing all devices connected to the network simultaneously. Unlike traditional VPN clients that may encounter compatibility issues with various devices and operating systems, ShieldMe leverages the router's capabilities to provide a seamless connection to VPN servers.
This service supports leading VPN providers such as ExpressVPN, NordVPN, and Surfshark, making it a versatile choice for users seeking enhanced privacy and security. Additionally, ShieldMe is compatible with popular router firmware like OpenWrt and DD-WRT, allowing for flexible integration with existing home networks.

However, it is important to note that ShieldMe is transitioning to a new service model, and as of February 1, 2024, new subscriptions will no longer be available. The current version of ShieldMe will continue to function until March 31, 2024, after which it will be discontinued. Existing subscribers will maintain access until that date, with refunds provided for any unused subscription period. A new, feature-rich desktop application is in development, which aims to offer both a free version and a tiered subscription model.
