Beacon Properties Group has over 30 years of experience in developing, managing, buying, and selling commercial real estate in North Carolina's Research Triangle Region. Founded by Chris Howlett in 1986, the company initially focused on developing sites for national retailers and later expanded into larger retail centers and office condominiums. Since 1999, they have specialized in developing medical offices and research labs for the University of North Carolina Healthcare System.
Following a successful sale of a medical office portfolio in 2015, Beacon has diversified into multifamily and mixed-use developments. They possess a strong expertise in the local entitlement processes, having never lost a rezoning case, and continue to work on various projects including mixed-use, multifamily, and medical office spaces.
Their current projects include Oakridge, a mixed-use development on 108 acres that aims to accommodate thousands of apartments and extensive commercial space, and other notable developments like 150 Wellesley Trade Lane, a two-story office and retail building in Cary, and several multifamily projects like the Farrington at 54 and Mt. Moriah Multifamily. The developments are strategically located to enhance access to major employment sectors and amenities in the region.
